About Urban Souvenir

Urban Souvenir is a project by Lyubov Jeglova that questions our ability to memorize the urban environment that surrounds us on a daily basis. How do we remember the street that we live in, our neighborhood or our city? Could we create souvenirs of our own city? How do we pass our memories and our knowledge of the urban to future generations?

Through her personal journey with her children Lyubov has started documenting different spaces of the urban environment that surrounds her on a daily basis. The old metal playgrounds and animal sculptures that still can be seen in many places around Sofia have become a starting point for a dialog with her children about the city that we live in. And hopefully this discussion will be enriched as they explore the city further.
